Meet Jim Rowell President, HRD Associates
Jim Rowell is a veteran training and development professional based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He has more than 20 years experience in the field of training and organizational development. In addition to his current consulting practice, Jim was also training and development director for Gulf States Paper Corporation and the director of training and development at the University of Alabama. He has taught psychology and sociology at the college level and was director of training and development at a residential treatment facility for the developmentally disabled. He is currently an adjunct professor of organizational behavior and change at the University of Alabama.
Jim's areas of expertise include leadership development, management and supervisory development, communication skills, conflict management, mediation skills, change management, customer service skills and team development. He is also on the faculty of the University of Alabama's certificate programs in management and training & development. He co-developed and facilitates TeamLab, a process for developing high performance teams. Jim Rowell receives the "Excellence in Teaching Award" from former University of Alabama President, Dr. Andrew Sorensen, in picture at right.
Jim Rowell received the "Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award" for 2002 from the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration."
Jim earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology while attending Huntingdon College, Troy State University and The University of Alabama. His clients have included General Motors, Cristie Electronics Ltd (UK), International Paper, MetLife, Weyerhaeuser, Gulf States Paper Corporation, Mercedes-Benz US International, Colonial Properties Trust, Techsonic Industries, Schlumberger Industries, Georgia-Pacific, Emergency One and The Alabama Electric Cooperative.
